An experienced consultant in the financial services industry since 2004, Matt works with a wide range of financial advisors across the country to develop and implement strategic plans for new business development, sales process, proactive service model and team building to ensure consistent growth within their practice. Matt is currently working on his first book, “Creating the Ultimate Advisory Practice.”
While attending Auburn University, Matt earned his degree in Finance. When out of the office, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife, Lindsey, his son, Bryce, and his twin girls, Anna Grace and Ellie. He also enjoys playing golf and guitar.
Working with advisors at Wall Street’s major firms since 2003, Randy Kent has developed a good understanding of how to address many of the challenges faced by individual financial advisors, managers and teams.
His natural abilities to coach, motivate, hold advisors accountable and uncover dormant talents have provided clients with positive results ranging from increased AUM, new relationships, improved client retention and better team dynamics.
Randy graduated from the University of Georgia where he received a BBA in Marketing from The Terry College of Business. Additionally, he studied at The Creative Circus, a leading, post-graduate advertising school in Atlanta, GA.
He lives in the Atlanta metropolitan area. His hobbies include playing pickleball, collecting records and hiking. Randy is a member of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and the UGA Alumni Association.

We have been working with Matt for a little over two years at this point and are very excited about the transformation that has taken place in our practice as well as the direction. I think most advisors know what they need to do to make their practice a better one, but we don’t realize how much work those simple things are going to be. We get started and then question if it is going to work, will it be worth it, is there an easier way? The single biggest value that Matt brings to the table is credibility. He has done this hundreds of other teams and advisors over the years and he knows what works. He has seen it over and over. That gave us the confidence we needed to put the effort in and ultimately see the results.
The other big difference for us is that he showed us how to do things correctly and efficiently. For example, anyone can ask for a referral. Asking in a way that creates a high probability of success is another story. He has taught us how to train our clients to create introductions rather than just give someone our name. Because of that I personally had more referrals in the last year than in the rest of my 30-year career combined.
At this point we are approaching the scalable, repeatable process that the industry always talks about. We have done it by defining what our value proposition is, who we can help and how. We have added structure to make sure those clients all get the appropriate and consistent level of care. We have created a service model for each tier of client engagement which has enhanced the level of service for all. Because of this we have experienced a level of growth such that we are elevating our current service assistant to an FA position and interviewing his replacement.
On a side note, I will mention that I am also a branch manager and have referred Matt to others in my office. He is currently working with another team and an advisor in our branch. All of those advisors echo our experience and are seeing growth in their practice.
